Miami-Dade is Florida’s largest and most populous county, home to roughly 2.7 million residents across 34 incorporated municipalities plus a large unincorporated area governed directly by the county. Few counties in the country combine this density of high-rise construction, tourism infrastructure, and hurricane-driven building code with the sheer geographic sprawl from Aventura to Homestead.
Downtown Miami, Brickell, and Miami Beach carry some of the highest concentrations of high-rise occupancies in the Southeast, each requiring stair pressurization, voice evacuation, and firefighter’s phone systems under NFPA 101. Because Miami-Dade sits within Florida’s High-Velocity Hurricane Zone (HVHZ), fire alarm and detection equipment, enclosures, and mounting hardware must meet stricter wind and product-approval standards than most of the state.
Universal Fire & Security Services has built its fire alarm and fire protection practice around this environment. We hold current Florida licensure (EC-13010477, EF-20001077) and work directly with Miami-Dade Fire Rescue and municipal fire prevention bureaus across the county on plan review, installation, and annual certification.
